"Lol Coxhill is a total musician, with one of the most wonderfully tart saxophone sounds anywhere. There isn't a musical context he hasn't mastered but with all his vast experience I still think surprise sounds like Lol. Tania Chen is similarly fearless; even after a number of very rewarding musical encounters I haven't managed to pigeonhole her playing. The three of us have played together once before, a short piece at the 2009 Mopomoso Christmas Bash. Too short for us to figure the trio out, so that will be one of the jobs for this afternoon.
