"I have played with all of the musicians in this group before but in a range of different circumstances and never in the same group. This pulling together of previously divergent musical partners from my playing history into new groupings is something I have always liked to be involved with, ever since the early 1970s and my Quaqua groups are a continuation of that. The backgrounds of the musicians involved in this concert are such that their combined musicality and experience covers an enormously wide area and I am looking forward to whatever music may emerge. As it is a completely new playing combination it can be guaranteed nothing like it will ever have been heard before." - John Russell
